Dude, I thought the usb port was on the front of the camera? Beside the mic, a little bit lifts up and the usb port is there. Thats what I think. I don’t have the camera but I’ve heard that its on the front beside the mic.
If you already have a micro SD inserted, maybe try formatting it or another card in your cam. I hope this helps someone, as I have not found any other way to fix this with many hours of web searches. It now all works as the manual says it should.
I had the same problem with mine. From new I filled the HDD up and could not empty it. I first thought I was doing something wrong since I had never had it work for me. I googled and found no fix for it. I decided to try moveing the videos to a micro SD and then to my PC with a card reader. This would take a while with the 1GB card from my N95. The cam prompted me to format the card. After formatting the micro SD I tried the USB on the JVC. Now both the SD & HDD can be accessed via USB.
Okay, I was a little miss-informed. We apparently have, like, 7 of these things. I tried another one, and it worked fine (same cables and everything).
So, that one in the video is definitely defective. We’re sending it back on warranty.
Thanks for all the assistance.
ya, i also heard it doesnt work with windows xp. i have this same cam. but i have vista and it with like a charm, have you tried plugin it in all of the usb ports? or you should try it without the dc adapter pluged into it? as shown in the vid.

Oh, and I tried all the USB ports as well.
Oh, and I also tried it with and without the DC adapter. No luck.
Sadly, I just tried it with Vista, and I’m still getting the same message. Thanks for the idea, though.

Dude I don’t know your systems, but rumor has it that camera only works with Vista, that what I read on Amazon comments…
